Reforms are need to make high quality child care, for infants through school age, accessible & affordable to working parents.

What's Involved KEY PARAMETERS:

Reforms are needed in regard to provider reimbursement rates, parent co-pays, eligibility and the waiting list for child care assistance.

DHS; an Office of Early Learning, CCRRs

RESOURCES:

Over $200 million cut from program since 2003

ASSETS TO BUILD ON:

Child care providers, QRS pilots, families

TIME FRAME:

could be done immediately with adequate resources

SUCCESS MEASURES:

% of child care affordable to low-income; elimination of waiting lists

This issue relates to my comments about braiding. We have already lost good providers, staff, and parent trust. We can't build and improve a system of a crubling infrastructure.
